• No experience is required, just an interest in helping others.
• There is no commitment to become a Mahogany Hospice Care volunteer by attending the training.
• Those who have recently lost a loved one are asked to wait a year before joining the patient-care volunteer team.
• When Volunteer Training is completed, an interview is scheduled to discuss the volunteers' areas of interest and expertise.
• In addition to working with patients and families, Mahogany Hospice Care volunteers also provide support in the office, with newsletter mailings, activities, and in the bereavement program.

Volunteers are a special group of people. They expect nothing in return other than knowing that they helped other people. Listening is the greatest skill volunteers can offer our patients and families.

Mahogany Hospice Care provides monthly in-services for their volunteers.

Volunteers will be honored at the Annual Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon held in the spring during National Volunteer Week.
